“What a thrill it is to learn of this recognition of Jenny’s leadership in the National VOAD movement,” said WV VOAD board chair Kim Tieman. “Jenny says she was surprised by this award, but her guidance in WV VOAD’s disaster response and recovery work for thousands of West Virginia survivors makes the award no surprise to anyone who knows her.”
Newly named executive director Rev. Jack Lipphardt, using a musical metaphor to describe her, wrote, “Jenny has provided remarkable orchestration in conducting multiple voluntary organizations, religious and secular, into a beautiful symphony titled “Recovery Partners” for survivors of disasters that overwhelm their ability to rally on their own.”
“A richly deserved award for a tremendous leader,” Tieman added.
